In cooperation with the European Association for Comparative Economic Studies (EACES), the Department of Applied Economics and Doctoral School of Economics, Higher School of Economics in Moscow is pleased to invite submissions to the following EACES-HSE PhD seminar:

 

Regional aspects of labour market, migration, investment, education, housing, health and other fields

 

The seminar is going to take place during the 18th April Conference on Economic and Social Development at the Higher School of Economics, held in Moscow from April 11 to April 14, 2017. Contributions from fields of labour market, migration, investment, education, housing, health studies are invited. Submissions that use regional or country level data are especially welcome. We are glad to announce that Francesco Pastore (Associate Professor of Second University of Naples) will be the distinguished keynote speaker.

The main objective of the seminar is to foster contacts and stimulate exchange between young scholars from Russia and other countries, as well as to introduce the Higher School of Economics to a new generation of highly qualified young researchers from around the world.

12 PhD students will be invited to give 20 minutes presentations and will receive detailed   feedback from senior academics in the field.

In case of receiving special HSE grant for the seminar travel expenses and accommodation for selected students will be provided.

Proposals     of   between   800   and   1,200   words,   giving   a   clear   idea   of   the   main   thesis and methods, plus a short CV should be sent to Olga Demidova (demidova@hse.ru)  no  later than  January 31st,  2017. The final decision of the selection committee will be made by February 1st, 2017. Full  papers of  7,000-9,000 words will  then  have  to  be  submitted  by March 15th, 2017.
