Alan Cafruny, Professor Hamilton College (USA): “Is the United States a Declining Power?"

We are glad to invite you to the public lecture of Prof. Alan Cafruny, Hamilton College (USA)

October 16, 15:00, Faculty of World Economy and International Politics, Shabolovka 31b, Kabinet 503

This talk considers the widespread, indeed virtually axiomatic, assumption of U.S. hegemonic decline. Have International Relations scholars developed a satisfactory conceptual basis for the assessment and measurement of global power?  If U.S. power is declining, what is the metric?  Is the international system moving towards multi-polarity?
