Scientific Conference IPSA in Bosnia and Herzegovina: «Diversity and Democratic Governance: Legacies of the Past, Present Challenges, and Future Directions?»

Iryna Zhyrun, a PhD student of Doctoral School of Political Science of Higher School of Economics in Moscow, attended an international scientific conference «Diversity and Democratic Governance: Legacies of the Past, Present Challenges, and Future Directions?». The conference took place at University of Sarajevo on June, 12 -15  in 2019 in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The conference was organized by a research committee Politics and Ethnicity (RC14), jointly with Democratization in Comparative Perspective (RC13), Comparative Federalism and Multilevel Governance (RC28), Security, Conflict and Democratization (RC44), Politics of Language (RC50) of International Political Science Association (IPSA). Over 200 researchers attended the conference. The work of the conference was organized in the form of panels on research and book presentations. A professor of New York University Kanchan Chandra was a key note speaker.

At the panel “Minorities and Securitization”, Iryna Zhyrun presented her research paper «Exploration of Religious Cleavages Through Narratives: Autocephaly as Political Agenda in Ukraine». Attendance of the conference was supported by travel grant provided by International Political Science Association (IPSA).
